Brooklyn Center was incorporated as a city in 1966. Brooklyn Center’s motto is: “At The Center”. The Mississippi River is the eastern boundary of the city and is part of the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area of Minnesota.
While the majority of land use is single-family homes, Brooklyn Center has developed and maintains 26 parks and a 20-mile trail system. Palmer Lake Park is a natural environmental preserve of lake and marsh habitat on over 200 acres in the city.
The historical route, Osseo Road, was renamed Brooklyn Boulevard by both Brooklyn Center and Brooklyn Park in 1969. Interstates 94 and 694 and Minnesota State Highways 100 and 252 are four of the main routes in Brooklyn Center.
Brooklyn Center and local residents are rolling out the “Welcome to Brooklyn Center” and the genuine “You’re Welcome Here!” Brooklyn Center welcome mats to visitors, local entrepreneurs, students, online startups, business founders, new residents, new entrepreneurs, media services, and more value-added Minnesota businesses.
Brooklyn Center encourages its residents to become inventors and creators of startups in retail, music, beauty, healthcare, media, law, legal services, medical support, news services, information technology (IT), restaurants, makeup, housing, education technology, and community service to help Brooklyn Center’s local business community to grow and prosper.
