Brownsville is on the western Gulf Coast in South Texas, adjacent to the border with Matamoros, Mexico. Brownsville is home to a deep-water seaport and a thriving Hispanic culture.
The city and Cameron county governments are major employers. Other primary employers fall within the service, export, trade, and manufacturing industries, including an in-demand and growing aerospace and space transportation sector. It operates international trading through the Port of Brownsville.
Boca Chica, in Cameron County, is home to a SpaceX facility and the SpaceX South Texas Launch Site. Camden County is also the future home of Starbase, Texas.
