Fountain Hills was incorporated in 1989
Fountain Hills is a designated International Dark Sky Community. Fountain Hills is known for its impressive fountain, once the tallest in the world, now the world’s fourth-tallest fountain as of 2022.
The town is one of only two International Dark Sky Communities located near a large metropolitan area. As of 2021, 34 communities in the world have earned the Community designation.
The Town of Fountain Hills borders the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation, Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, and the City of Scottsdale.
The Town of Fountain Hills embraces cultural equality, diversity, inclusion, equity and has many historic business-friendly communities.
