Sacramento is the oldest incorporated city in California. Sacramento is the capital city of the U.S. state of California and the seat and largest city of Sacramento County. Sacramento is the seat of the California Legislature and the Governor of California. It features the California State Capitol Museum.
Sacramento is the fastest-growing major city in California, owing to its status as a notable financial center on the West Coast and as a major educational hub, home of California State University, Sacramento and University of California, Davis.
Sacramento has many nicknames: “Sactown”, “Sac”, “City of Trees”,”River City”, “Camellia City” and “America’s Most Diverse City”. Its motto is: “Indomitable City”.
The Sacramento Kings new owner, Vivek Ranadivé with the help of the city, agreed to build a new Arena in the downtown area. With a final estimated cost of $558.2 million, Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center broke ground on October 29, 2014 and opened on Septemter 30, 2016.
