Atlanta’s baseball team is the Braves. The Atlanta Braves, established in 1871, is an iconic American professional baseball team based in the Atlanta area since 1966. The name “Braves”, which was first used in 1912, originates from a term for a Native American warrior.
The Braves’ home park is Truist Park, a baseball stadium, located approximately 10 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta in the unincorporated community of Cumberland, in Cobb County. The Braves play spring training games at CoolToday Park in North Port, Florida.
Atlanta is home to the Falcons, The Atlanta Falcons is a National Football League (NFL) team based in Atlanta. The Falcons compete as a member club of the league’s National Football Conference (NFC) South division. The Falcons joined the NFL on June 30, 1965 as an expansion team.
The Falcons play in Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. They’re headquartered in Flowery Branch, in Hall County, Georgia. Hall County is located in the north central portion of Georgia. Gainesville is the county seat.
